The other day, my mum made me breakfast- two slices of toasted kaya bread.3 bites into my roti bakar later, she came back out into the gazebo where we were eating and asked me to give mine to dad, and gave me another one.I knew exactly what she was trying to do ;) I pulled apart the two freshly toasted bread slices and I saw thick slabs of butter slathered in between this time. My sentiments confirmed...My parents are on a mission to fatten me up before I head back to Canada and they're succeeding very well.In a span of 7 days, I have put on 4.5 kgs :)But grandma says I look much better like this than on the first day I visited her :)I don't mind it one bit though -I'm happily devouring my dearly missed Malaysian food :)

We had a new addition to the family whilst we were happily walking along Jonker Street in Melaka last week.It cost us RM40.We named it Chub-Chub.Sadly, it only lasted two days with us. Chub-Chub, may you rest in peace.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes. I'm sorry I wasn't able to reply to every single message.1. OnlineThank you to all for the birthday wishes through facebook and friendster. I read every single one of them and am very very touched :) xoxoxo here's a big warm hug to every one of u2. Here's to wishing all the December babies a Happy birthday too, just in case I missed someone out, which I most likely did.3. In Canada.Thank you Vickie and Kent Koon (and my landlord's family) for throwing me a surprise pre-birthday celebration just hours before my flight :) It was so very sweet of you guys and I definitely enjoyed my heavy heavy meal and the wonderful cake and the winter socks ;) and the improvised candle ;P and the group photos :) 4. Thank you Vartika for walking over all the way, despite seeing me for such a short while, to say goodbye and thank you for the ice-cream out in the wintery cold ;) We had fun eh? Snapping photos in the store ;) I wish you all the best in Yellowstone and I know we will see each other in the near future :) and have more pot-lucks and dancing sessions :)5. Thank you Sam for the mouth-watering desserts and for also, wrapping my frozen blueberries up. You couldn't have been any sweeter than that! *heart u* :)6. On the plane- on my birthday!Thank you James for being such a great companion, throughout the 15 hour butt-numbing ride. You were a gentleman throughout, putting up with my constant shifting movements to get rid of the bum soreness and for giving me half your meals when I couldn't make up my mind on the meal choices :) and thanks for wrapping the blanket over my arms when it fell :)7. Back home after my 4 day trip in MalaccaSakthi, Raj and Syafiq- can't believe you guys surprised me with a birthday cake and planned it with my mum and kakak!!! You don't know how touched I am, how grateful I am to have friends like you guys. I love you all so so much. Thank you for making today so wonderful. On our list to do in the next few years together is : camping in my garden next year with marshmallows, garlic bread, and ghost stories ;) : our Penang food trip - remember Sakthi, you're going to be non-vegan then ;) : our Thailand/Singapore trip! : Our Bora-Bora island trip? ;) *heart you all so so much* had a wicked time cooking dinner tonight-thanks to the Maggi goreng chef, the onion slicer and the cabbage peeler ;) and watching National treasure 2 and eating pizza for lunch and eating McFlurry :) thanks again for being so wonderful :)Im sorry if I haven't yet contacted some of you. The day after I arrived home, I left for a Malacca trip with my family for 4 days. I'll be here for another 5 days before I leave for Hong Kong to celebrate the New Year. I am trying my hardest to squish in time to see you guys- especially those whom I have promised, but it hasn't been easy, so if I am not able to see you this holiday,I'm truly sorry and I hope you understand.
